Mark Antman and Alan Carey have been friends since 1970s. They were business partners since the 1980s. Both of them had the passion with regards to photography long before they met in one competition that Antman joined. It was as if the two were destined to meet and become friends and business partners. Their partnership in business has lasted this long without any conflict of interest which just shows how the two feed off each other. Carey retired from The Image Works back in 2001 but he is still, somehow, involved with the operations. People say that he only retired from being the company president. Antman now handles Image Works solely and despite attempts of some parties to be co-partners with him, Antman has rejected all of those.
Mark Antman has long had a fruitful career in photography before he met Carey. He was one of the top freelance photographers at that time especially with him winning majority of the competitions that he joined. His talent level in photography was on par with some of the well-known photographers in the United States. Carey, on the other hand, was a successful photojournalist before they became business partners. Both were very skillful in their own field which basically helped them achieve so many things.
The partnership of Mark Antman and Carey was built for success. No one can doubt that since their partnership led to the creation of The Image Works, one of the most successful photo studios in New York. The two clearly had very good knowledge when it comes to photography and they used it to their advantage. When two talented individuals join together, it can bring good things as well as bad things. They might clash heads since both want to be the star. This did not happen with Antman and Carey since both understood how to work with each other. They knew how to work with the strength of the other which made them very good business partners.
There are partnerships in business that does not last as long as those of Antman and Carey. At times, the two gets into an argument because of problems with money. This is a common problem that dooms the partnership. Antman and Carey never had that kind of problem. They both respected each other and both were willing to listen to what the other individual was saying. The two understood each other which made them business partners for life, and friends forever.
